Professionally trained by industry leaders in Melbourne Australia and Auckland NZ, Louise has an extensive background in hair styling for film, TV, bridal and fashion, giving her the unique advantage of understanding the importance of creating a style that not only is incredible in person, but also looks flawless at every angle you will be filmed/photographed from. The perfect wedding hairstyle should be a combination of technical perfection, your personal vision and your stylists creative talent. Louise has a true passion for what she does and loves collaborating with each of her brides to create their dream look.
“I trained as a hairstylist and makeup artist specializing in film & special effects at The Makeup School in my home country of New Zealand. After graduating I worked as the head assistant to the Australasian director for L’Oreal Paris, as well as building my own freelance business doing makeup and hairstyling services. I then was offered a position with TVNZ, working both in studio and on location. After several years in Auckland NZ, I decided to expand my business to Milan, Italy. I moved there and was employed by The Studio Como as their resident head bridal hairstylist. Based in Lake Como, we specialized in luxury bridal beauty services and covered all of Italy, parts of Switzerland and the UK. It was at this time I decided to shift my focus to exclusively offering bridal hairstyling services. I began to split my year between Italy and New Zealand, taking advantage of the split seasons and working the summer bridal season in Italy then coming back to NZ for the summer bridal season there. My second year in Italy, I was given the role of head freelance bridal stylist for Toni & Guy Lake Como, and continued to work with them for several years. Post pandemic I spent several years in Los Angeles working in a Beverly Hills hair salon, as well as freelancing in bridal, TV and editorial.
I am delighted to now be back in beautiful New Zealand and taking bookings for Wanaka and surrounding areas.
